Why do we exercise?

Some exercise for the health benefits. Some exercise to maintain a great appearance. Some are in it for mood elevation, stress reduction, relaxation, or endorphins.

In other terms:
  • Health benefits
  • Image
  • Stress reduction/relaxation
  • Endorphins (bochemical addiction :)) = Mood elevation

In short, one of the reasons you train is because of how it makes you feel on a "biochemical level".

By the way, this is different than training for the adrenaline kick!

How can I develop my “qi” or life force? - ARTICLE

Here are a few ideas on life force and how it works in your system.

The moment you feel tired, it's because there is a gap.

This gap can be related to lack of energy or misuse of energy.

If you have lots of energy, you can still waste it and simply direct it in ways which are not profitable.

For instance, if you are very tense and stressed, you burn lots of energy. You don't sleep well and basically feel drained on an energy level.

So, the first step is to harmonize what is there and gain back control over your life and mind territory.

Sometimes, you feel drained and tired because your space is controlled or constricted by others.

You don't know how to protect yourself and energy simply flows out of you.

You end up drained and tired.

Once you harmonize your system and gain back control over your life, the next step is to establish a healthy life style.

Think of what you eat.

Think of what comes in your body.

If you are craving for energy and feel hungry, you can give your body a high energy snack, for instance a muesli bar, a fresh or dried fruit, etc.

This will instantly give you an energy boost.

In most cases, feeling low in energy has to do with the obvious.

It has to do with diet, lack of exercise or lack of excitement for your life's targets and daily activities.

These are the obvious solutions.

This is where you want to start.

Now, if we step beyond that and look at other ways of building up energy, you can do this by connecting with nature.

For instance, if you are outdoor, walking bare feet on the sand or grass will instantly reconnect you with natural sources of energy in and around you.

If you are locked in a room with no oxygen, you naturally crave for energy.

Next step is about activating your inner flow of life force.

What works best is any form of martial art technique, breathing techniques, yogic postures, etc.

If you focus on meditation techniques, it's the mind you will activate.

If you focus on physical techniques, it is your physical and etheric body your will activate.

If you want to instantly increase your energy level, use a dynamic breathing technique or any physical movement which activates the flow of energy in your body.

When you train, move or exercise, you naturally invoke the flow of life force in your body.

There is often no need to tap into the spiritual or supernatural.

If you go directly to the obvious (healthy diet and some exercise), you will usually give your body all the energy it needs.

If there is still an energy gap, start checking your daily activities.

Are you excited by your day and what you do?

If you focus on activities and projects you are thrilled about, you will naturally manifest a higher level of energy in your system.

Motivation and excitement works on the mind level.

Focusing on exciting targets simply releases any mental blockages and allows your energy to flow.

It can take a few weeks of focus to actually understand what happens in your system on an energy level.

The first step is to find answers and identify exactly what is missing:



  • Motivation?

  • High energy food?

  • Vitamins?

  • Life purpose?

  • Exciting life targets?

  • Feeling drained by people or your environment?

  • Etc.

Once you have an idea of what is missing start giving your body or mind what it needs.

If you lack physical energy, shift your diet and do some exercise.

If you lack motivation, change your life targets and focus on goals you are truly excited about.

If all this works fine, then focus on the next level: breathing techniques and Qi building martial arts techniques.

Most people who face an energy gap, look too far.

They tend to focus on wanting to change their energy level by using their will power only through some form of concentration technique.

In most cases best results will be reached by having an impact directly on the physical (change of diet or life style).

Suppose you want to lift a glass of water in the air.

You can try to use supernatural powers or you can simply use your hand.

If you focus on supernatural powers (telekinesis) you might eventually reach some results after years of effort and practice (No guarantee though J )

However, if you want direct and effective results, the best is still to use your hand.

Energy level in your body functions in the same way: if you feel tired, you can search for supernatural ways of connecting with invisible sources of energy or you can simply give your body some quality food and fresh air.

Usually, this is all it takes to get what you need.

There is nothing "supernatural" about it but it will give you everything you need.

It is simple common sense.

Imagine this situation:

You are in your 40’s

You used to train, exercise and even compete in sports when you were a teenager.

Down the line, your career needs forced you to give up any form of exercise.

Add to this family life, comfort and big meals and you are now 20 or 30 pounds too heavy.

You know you don’t like it!

You know it is bad for your health!

You know as well that if there was a simple and easy way to get back in shape you would take it, right?

In your mind, loosing weight means sacrifice, cravings, suppression, lots of effort, time, energy and money.

This is why you resist even getting started with it.

What I want to give you is a winning mind set.

I want to help you change these beliefs because they are simply wrong and disempowering for you on the long term.

Walk into a supermarket and simply check the products.

80% of what is sold is bad for you!

This is not a joke!

80% of what you find in supermarkets is simply junk!

Sugar filled lines of cookies!

Addictive chips and other junk snacks!

Lines and lines of bottled calories filled soft drinks!

Ready made frozen meals!

Tined! Heavily processed! Fat! Frozen!

This is only a small sample.

What is left? What is good?

Greens and vegetables

Fresh and dried fruit

Grains

Etc.

Now, very little effort is put into marketing these delicious red lentils!

While the big billboards give you endless discounts on the pure addictive salt filled potato chips!

And there is not just one type of them!

Dozens of brands with the most exciting names!

It is all a set up!

That’s the power of blind marketing.

The companies who make these products don’t care about your health.

They don’t care about what these chips do to you.

All they want is to sell them to you and make money!

This is why you might be a victim of all this hype!

This is why after 20 years of simply grabbing what is there, you end up with 30 unwanted pounds.

The environment you live in simply strongly stimulates unhealthy overeating.

It might be an alarming trip to the doctor who tells you about your cholesterol levels.

It might be a sudden frightening chest pain.

On the long term, the only reason they get rich is because people tend to get heavier every day!

Sure, they might have some good underlying intention originally but somewhere down the line, this simple desire to have a positive impact is overtaken by the greedy need for money.

I know this is not a nice picture, but if you want to succeed, you need to wake up!

There is a solution!

The solution is to establish healthy life style habits that you can easily maintain on the long term.

The reason why “Get slim” diets don’t work is because they are like a marathon.

They force you to suppress cravings and they can’t be maintained on the long term.

It’s clear that you don’t want to live on pink powder, right?

There are two direct and simple aspects to get back in shape:

· The first one is to move your body more, train and exercise.

· The second one is to change what you eat and the way you eat.

It is simple!

Now we are going to add some essential ingredients to this recipe.

How to easily shift a negative eating pattern - ARTICLE

If you have been struggling with making healthy shifts to your diet, here is a battle plan to help you.

Here is what you need to succeed with making diet shifts:

  • Motivation!

You need a good reason to shift that pattern! This is motivation! It is energy which keeps you focused on it until you succeed

  • Better alternative!

It’s not enough to simply say “No!”. You need a better alternative! Examples? White bread to whole grain cereals. White sugar in sweets to fruit sugar in dried raisins. Remember that just suppressing a need usually does not work. You want a better choice.

  • Battle plan: One week focus! – One change at a time!

Shift one aspect of your diet at a time over a period of a week! If you try to shift many aspects of your diet at the same time, you usually loose focus and miss your target. 1 week gives you enough space to experiment with new recipes and ideas.

Remember that your environment, family or friends need to readapt to your new choices. It’s not just you, you are educating, it is them as well.

After one week, maintain the new habit and if you need to, ad a second change to your diet.

It will easily take you one to three months to really integrate a new eating pattern, so stay focused.

There is only one reason you will stick to a new pattern: if it is easy and fun to maintain on the long term without major effort.

Makes sense, right?

Chronic fatigue can be a sickness.

Now, in most cases, I do believe that feeling tired is simply related with poor life style choices.

Here are some top causes which can lead you to being low on energy:

  • Too much weight

Carrying an extra 5 to 10 kilos in extra weight all the time can be the simple cause to you feeling tired. If it is the case, you know what to do next, right?

  • Lack of exercise

Exercising brings a fresh flow of energy into your body. It will give you the boost of energy you are looking for.

  • Too much exercise – Overtraining

The exact opposite to the previous point. Too much enthusiasm. You over train giving your body little time to rest.

  • Poor diet

You simply don’t give you body what it needs. You miss healthy snacks or breakfast. When you eat, you go for poor energy food.

  • Vitamins or minerals deficiency

It’s okay to give your body a boost with some extra multivitamin. It is a bit cheating but with the very artificial and modern life style you live in, this emergency short cut will give your body what it needs.

  • Draining people

A colleague who needs ongoing emotional support can request more energy than you can give. Learn to say no!

  • Boring daily activities

This can concern your job or simply what you do at home. Boring tasks call for energy levels. If you want more energy, focus on what thrills you.

  • High stress

Too many demands and pressures can drain your energy by not allowing you to rest. One strategy! Simplify your life!

  • Lack of sleep/rest

You need your 8 hours sleep or rest. If you don’t get them, shift your day rhythm and go to be earlier.

  • Biological cycle/menstruation for women

This one can explain periodical drops of energy and mood swings.
