The fight is done. The talking has stopped.
Now comes Phase 2. And the first step of Phase 2 is Release.
A fight isn’t over when the talking stops. It’s over when the body lets go.
The Full Fight Roadmap
- Phase 0 — Before The Fight: Know your triggers. Know your partner’s triggers.
- Phase 00 — Fight Edge: Recognize the hook. Witness. Self-regulate. Catch it or leave it.
- Phase 1 — During The Fight: Catch The Wave → Stop Escalation → Regulate Body → Soften → Observe → Act
- Phase 2 — After The Fight ← You are here: Release → Repair → Resolution → Reach Out
Release is the first step after the fight. It prepares you for everything that comes next.
Why Release Comes Before Repair
Most people want to jump straight to repair.
Apologize. Fix it. Move on. Return to normal.
But if the body hasn’t released — the repair is built on a charged foundation.
The next trigger fires faster. The next fight escalates sooner. The residue of the last fight bleeds into the next one.
Release first. Then repair. Then reconnect.
Release Completes The Fight Cycle
Every fight activates a stress cycle in the body.
That cycle needs to complete. Not be suppressed. Not be talked over. Completed.
Release is how the cycle completes. It discharges the activation, returns the nervous system to safety, and clears the ground for real repair.
Master the release. Master the repair.
